			=The Tax Challenge=
			As you move from collecting tax for a state or two to having to collect tax for multiple states, the effort required to do this can become daunting. Trying to stay on top of changing tax rates and tax laws can be challenging enough. Even with that done, you'll then need to file your tax compliance reports to pay those taxes on a regular basis possibly monthly or quarterly.

			Like PCI, this is not something small business was looking forward to. A lot of compliance effort without a lot of ROI but it is something we'll need to contend with. The last thing you want are tax audits and having to pay back taxes, especially for orders you never collected taxes on. For many of our clients, it is time to find a better tax solution.

	*Marketplaces - Some marketplaces like Amazon, particularly those that handle the payment processing for you, may calculate and even file taxes based on your sales. The trouble at the moment is that CMS is expecting all transactions to be sent to Avalara so we are currently working on ways to filter transactions from such marketplaces out of the data we send to Avalara. Keep in mind though that these marketplace transactions still count toward your total of sales and transactions in a given state when assessing economic nexus.
	*Automated Imports - If you are using our [[Automated Imports Module]] (AIM), which automatically saves imported orders as completed orders if they pass a set of validation checks that you configure, CMS is not yet auto-calculating tax on import. In other words, all imported orders must be manually verified and the Get Tax button clicked. We're in the process of automating this both for the automated imports and to automatically do the Get Tax call when manually verifying an order.
