This article will cover the details of creating a ad code there purpose and there use.
What is an Ad Code?
Ad codes are a way for CMS to represent deals and promotions for your products and services. With ad codes you can associate customers and orders with your promotional efforts, allowing you to provide your customers with special deals, while also giving you valuable information on the success of your promotions and additional information about your customers and purchasing habits.
How to create an Ad Code
To create an Ad code follow the instructions below.
Filling out the Ad Code
Now that we have created the Ad code we need to fill out the information about this Ad code. What information needs to be in an ad code is dependent on your need, as a an example though, follow the instructions below for what you would need to fill out for a catalog mailing.
Response Dates and Sales
So at this point we have almost completed our ad code, we just have some details about the Response Date and sales to fill out. To do so please follow the instructions below.
Using your Ad Code
Now that we have created our Ad Code how do we use it? There are many different ways to gather information based of Ad Codes
- During Order entry an Ad Code is added to let you know what promotion a customer is using, and to trigger any special pricing as a result of the promotion.
- When a customer first uses an Ad Code, there record will be tagged with that code as a "Source Code" to let you know which promotions drive the most new customers to you.
- When creating filters, you can select Ad codes to give you at a glance information about your customers. As well as to help you create targeted mail lists and other promotions.
