As part of the CMS 6.0 upgrade, we have incorporated updates to the integrated Help system on both new and existing features of CMS. In order to access the updated Help from your workstations, they will need their Help system updated as well. Using the instructions below, you can deploy the Help system updates to your workstations without having to perform a 6.0 workstation installation on each one.
Copying the 6.0 Help files from your CMS server
- Go to the CMS workstation and open up the C:\Program Files\NewHaven Software folder. Please note that on your system this may be another drive such as D: instead, but the folder path should be the same.
- Open up the network drive where CMS is installed. This is commonly N:\ or X:\.
- If you see a folder called NewHaven Software, open it. If not, you are already in the right location.
- Find the file named CMS.chm. This is the file containing the CMS help documentation.
- Right-click on the CMS help file and select Copy.
- Go back to the C:\Program Files\NewHaven Software folder, right-click anywhere in the blank area, and select Paste.
A 6.0 workstation update is required if:
- You are adding a new CMS workstation.
- You have upgraded directly from CMS 4.x to CMS 6.0.
In these cases you will still need to run an actual CMS workstation installation to create the folders that contain the Help documentation and supporting files.
