Overview
Using the eCMS product import, you can flag a large number of products as exempt from inventory control at once. This is the same as checking the Inventory Control Exempt checkbox in the admin.
File Setup
- Open a new worksheet in Excel.
- In the top row, put these two fields (naming must be exact and is case-sensitive):
- SKU
- IsInventoryExempt
- In the SKU column, list out your eCMS SKU codes for the items you want to exempt from inventory control (make sure the case is correct).
- In the next column over, put TRUE (all caps).
- (If for some reason you want to remove the inventory control exemption from a product that currently has it, put FALSE in the product's row instead.)
- Click File->Save As... and select Comma-delimited values.
- Click Yes to any prompts that come up.
Importing to eCMS
- Inside the admin, open Inventory->Product Import.
- Change the Type to comma-delimited in the top section of the page.
- Enter your address in the Email Notification field.
- Click the Submit button at the end of the top section.
- You should receive an email in a few minutes informing you that the import has been processed.
